Mark Rouse

          I grew up a very poor kid, in a grungy suburb just west of Detroit, Michigan. My mind was always on nothing but the stars and whatever else popped into my little head. I’ve always had stories in there, creeping around, keeping my mind from the things I should have been paying attention to. Sometimes they demand my entire attention and decide to take over whenever they wish. And other times its music. Music can easily kidnap my imagination and have its way with it, running places that even surprise me.

          For me, this may be the hardest thing to write. For starters, the only degree I have has absolutely nothing to do with writing.  A lot of authors will spend this time talking about their achievements and accolades. I have yet to receive any, but that is not important. I’m just happy to have anyone read just one of my books. And hopefully, enjoy it. You see, for me, it’s all about the story. I realize that grammar, structure, pacing and many other things are important when writing a novel. And you can be the best at all of those things, but if the story is terrible, none of it matters. All I ask is you read with an open mind, and not a judgmental one. If you’re looking for grammatical and or literary perfection, well you are in the wrong place. However, if you are looking for a great story that will make you laugh, fall in love, maybe cry a little or just scare the living hell out of you, then you are welcome here. Thank you for reading!
